Adelaide CBD (Particle Data) - 2015 onwards

This data set contains validated particle pollution data for the year 2015 and ongoing for the Adelaide CBD region in monthly files. Data was collected as 1 hour averages. Information provided is PM10 and PM2.5 values expressed in micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m3), Ambient Temperature expressed in Degrees Celsius (°C) & Ambient Barometric Pressure expressed in Atmospheres (atm). Time is expressed as Time Ending Averages.

Negative values occur from time to time and are a result of interferents such as moisture and semi volatile compounds in combination with the noise of the instrument.

Sampling method: Beta Attenuation Monitor (BAM).

Sampling Standard: AS3580.9.11 – 2008.

Field labels: PM10 BAM µg/m3 – Particulate Matter 10 microns or less, PM2.5 BAM µg/m3 – Particulate Matter 2.5 microns or less, Temperature Deg C – Ambient Temperature, Barometric Pressure atm – Ambient Pressure. For comparison to National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure (NEPM) standards, any average calculated from this data is only valid if it is based on at least 75% of the expected samples in the averaging period. This applies to all averaging periods.

Further information on data availability and computing averages can be found in the National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure Technical paper No. 5 – Data Collection and Handling.
