Privacy

The Data.SA website operates in accordance with the South Australian Government’s Information Privacy Principles.

In the course of managing the website and responding to customer enquiries, the Data.SA website, managed by ICT and Digital Government, collects the following information from its users:

  1. Clickstream Data - A record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes - the user's IP address, the date and time of the visit to the site, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, the previous site visited and the type of browser used. All of the information collected through Google Analytics is completely depersonalised which means that we cannot identify who is doing the actions that we are monitoring.  Data collected is for improving the website.  No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect our service provider's logs. This information is analysed on a regular basis to determine site usage statistics.
  2. Cookies - These are used on the Data.SA website to track an individual's site activity and are for customisation of service provision and for no other purposes.
  3. Enquiries and Feedback – ICT and Digital Government retains the email address of people who send emails via the Data.SA website for the purpose of responding. Your email address will at times be disclosed to other South Australian Government agencies for the purpose of providing a response to your data enquiry.  Your email address will be used only for the purpose for which you have provided it and not for any other purpose. 

The Data.SA website contains links to a number of other websites.  When you leave the Data.SA website you are no longer protected by the above Privacy Statement.

This privacy statement is periodically reviewed in line with the ongoing development of website.
