Birkenhead Naval Reserve Station (particle data)
This dataset contains validated particle pollution data for September 2024 to campaign finish (~ August 2025) measured at the Birkenhead Naval Reserve monitoring station. Data was collected as 1-hour averages and are provided in monthly files. Data provided includes PM10 and total suspended particulate (TSP) values expressed in micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m3), ambient temperature expressed in degrees Celsius (Deg C) & ambient barometric pressure expressed in atmospheres (atm). Time is expressed as Time Ending Averages and always in Australian Central Standard Time (ACST).
Negative values occur from time to time and are a result of interferents such as moisture and semi volatile compounds in combination with the noise of the instrument.
Sampling method (PM10): Beta Attenuation Monitor (BAM).
Sampling method (TSP): Tapered Element Oscillating Microbalance (TEOM).
Sampling Standard (PM10): AS/NZS 3580.9.11. Uncertainty in measurement: U95= ± 2 µg/m3 for 24hr average.
Field labels: PMTSP TEOM µg/m3 – total suspended particulates, PM10 BAM µg/m3 – Particulate Matter 10 microns or less, Temperature Deg C – Ambient Temperature, Barometric Pressure atm – Ambient Pressure
