Future Acidification Potential (ASRIS)

Future acidification potential is a term which applies to soils which are not currently acidic (or prone to acidification in the short term), but could conceivably become acidic in future, regardless of land use or management practices. 'Future' implies a time frame of 10-50 years from 2015. The analysis is based on Soil Landscape Mapping of SA's agricultural districts using soil class information in the nationally-consistent Australian Soil Resource Information System (ASRIS) data format.
