Radiofrequency Radiation

The EPA, from time to time, measures radiofrequency radiation emitted from sources such as AM/FM radio, TV, mobile phones (including towers) microwaves and Wi-Fi. Measurements are undertaken using a Narda NBM-550 Broadband Field Meter fitted with a 3 MHz – 18 GHz EF1891 probe which covers the entire spectrum above. Results are presented as a percentage of the allowable member of public exposure limit as published in the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) Radiation Protection Standard for Maximum Exposure Levels to Radiofrequency Fields - 3 kHz to 300 GHz (2002).
